3D printing technology has come a long way in just the past few years. Materials that are available have expanded and technology has increased to the point where anyone at home can buy a fairly cheap printer and make things of their own with amazing quality. With our new SLA resin printer from FormLabs, we can produce high quality prototypes in hours. Eventually we are hoping to make short run molds directly from this printer to use with our injection molding machines directly. This means we could go from 3D design to mold in a couple or hours or days compared to weeks when using traditional method of "soft tooling". There is so much potential that just needs to find the right outlet. We have also used other 3D printing technology (FMD) that uses PLA and PETG filaments to create things to help with production of other jobs in our factory. Check out the video here.
